Windsor Gardens, Penarth

postcard postcard postcard postcard postcard postcard postcard

Windsor Gardens is Penarth's earliest park, and originally was privately owned. The Gardens were laid out on land owned by Lord Windsor starting in 1880 with the northern half, and were extended southwards in 1885, via a bridge which crossed a dingle to link the two halves. The postcards are arranged to reflect this, beginning at the north and proceeding over the bridge to the southern half of the Gardens. There is also a section which explores the documented history of Windsor Gardens, and in addition there is an aerial photograph taken in 1977.
